Overview
Having worked closely with the team at Slazenger for several years and developing a deep understanding of the company and products, Brandammo were commissioned in 2009 to design and develop a global website to launch the Slazenger brand online.

The Brief
BRANDAMMO were given overall responsibility for all aspects of the planning, design, development and launch of Slazenger.com. Working closely with the team at Slazenger to ensure the brand was represented accurately and consistently online, the BRANDAMMO website design and development teams proposed an approach to the site that would emphasise both the cutting-edge technical attributes of the latest product ranges as well as the rich history and sporting pedigree of the 127 year-old brand. Whilst the site needed to incorporate the very latest in front-end build technology and interactive features there was also a requirement for all aspects of the site to be easily editable by non-technical website administrators on a regular basis.

Deliverables
Full website planning and project management, front-end design (including interactive Flash and JQuery features, 3D animation and after-effects video), website development, Content Management System (CMS) integration and copywriting.

Outcome

The website has been extremely well received by Slazenger regional and global offices, following press releases by Slazenger, the site has been featured in a number of trade and industry publications and continues to attract an ever increasing number of visits from consumers around the world.

Concept Creation
One of the main aims of the site was to position Slazenger alongside its major competitors online so the use of cutting edge technology and an array of interactive tools and features were required. To allow the site to evolve over time as new product ranges and technologies are developed and launched by Slazenger the entire site needed to be developed as a shell into which relevant content can be uploaded, edited and removed as required. To allow the site content to be easily managed by various administrators across the Company, the site us powered by AMMOBOX CMS.

Design Development

Working with the in-house team at Slazenger the BRANDAMMO creative team created a site that was both consistent with the current offline marketing whilst taking the brand to the next level online. A key requirement for the design team was also to create a visual style that was suitable to display both contemporary and historical content that would be required. To add another dimension to the site front end the team created 3D models of some of the products, which were then animated to show key technical features and product attributes in a visually engaging way. Further features built into the front end to the site include JQuery feature boxes that give the impression of Flash whilst retaining live text links for the benefit of search engines. Flash galleries controlled by AMMOBOX, After Effects video and a Flash microsite devoted to Slazenger’s 107 years  of Wimbledon sponsorship were all added to provide the finishing touches.
